Bibliography
The following is a partially annotated bibliography. I have tried to make it as comprehensive as possible. Some works mentioning Bottesini have been left out if I found them to be redundant information. ie. books on Verdi showing the correspondence written about the premiere of Aida. It would serve neither the reader nor the research to list every book with these same letters included. And, please, remember that a comprehensive bibliography is impossible to complete alone. If my readers find other works not listed here or more bibliographical information where needed, would you be so kind as to pass them along to one of the addresses on our contacts page.

I have introduced a new numbering scheme for Bottesini's works. I have done this out of necessity due to the variety of titles, keys and even instrumentation given to the same works. I have found a total of three Opus numbers of the nearly 180 works Bottesini composed. I have tried to match up the Opus numbers to the new listing where possible. I am calling these numbers "V" numbers in honor of Gaspero Nello Vetro to whom we all owe a debt of gratitude for his book entitled Giovanni Bottesini.
Vetro has stated that several works mentioned in other sources have been left off the list. I imagine due to lack of solid proof Bottesini actually wrote the piece etc.
These V numbers are exclusive to this site. If it fancies you, use them. Be warned though, no one else, other than myself, will know what you are talking about.
